Curious: What made you pick the 250 over the 350 or Vise Versa?

It was all about the power, and I still can't get enough of it. Plus, I couldn't resist getting the IS350 for $1K under invoice. For MPG, there really isn't that much of a difference. And I couldn't see myself driving a car that was just about the same speed as my RX350.

Needed a 4door, wifey wanted to upgrade from her Integra, kid on the way, I wanted something with some power. She wanted the AWD since we live in ILL. Was about to get the AWD but got a good deal on a loaded 350. She said after driving the 350 for a while, she got a chance to drive the 250 awd and said she missed the power of the 350. So in the end I am happy and she is happy.
Now I'm looking at the IS-F

THanks to everyone for posting towards my curiousity---and i know U all ove telling your reasons behind your purchases anyways---lol..j/k
thanks for contributing...
But yes as someone mentioned above it seems like the main reasons are always the same:
1. Money
2. AWD
3 Manual
Interestingly enough a few people who did not have the cost issue-mentioned if the 350 came with the AWD and/or Manual they would have bought that instead.
Also just to peacfully comment on the "I dont see spending an extra $8000 for just an extra 100HP" - -...technically its not a difference of $8K ---its closer to $5-6K and its not just an extra 102HP ...you also get an extra speed on your tranny if you get an auto (6 instead of 5) and about 100lb-ft/TQ.
Reasons like that are well...ehh nevermind but .... 102HP and 100lbs/TQ means a whole lot when applied to real world feel and driving.basically its a totally different driving experience. - feels like a completely different car. and if you are into power as an enthusiast, an extra $6K -you would spend in a heartbeat-for the night and day difference.-seems you're just not into power-which is fine....but the $6K price difference I dont think was the deciding factor
the AWD option makes a lot of sense---especially if you have one car.& live in snowy areas
those not interested in the power and wanted the look and features - that I can totally understand--not everyone is into power---plus you get the sporty look and feel + lexus reliability

okey, for me it wasnt 6K it was around 11K plus an extra $200 on the insurance which is already $450/month
it would have costed me something around $500 more per month, and honestly everytime u speed, specially now in CANADA, u get a ticket somehow, there are cops everywhere... and honestly from the speed wise, i have a bike, so i do get enough of my speedjunkines.. lol

My reason to choose the IS250 over the IS350 is because of the AWD in the 250 was #1 factor, like someone mention if 350 was in AWD I'll be all over it. Why I wanted AWD because I live in Minnesota. I don't want to be spinning on the road in the winter time. #2 I don't really care for speed and power no more ... 204 HP was good enough for me. I'm not old or anything but I'm done with wanting a powerful car ... I just wanted a nice and comfortable car that looks great!

well Speeding is not eliminated just by not getting the 350...I mean you still can break the speed limit in a 250..just wont get there as fast ...
So basically you have your bike for you speed needs and the car for comfort and looks?...about right?
