They are both great cars. You just need to decide what is important to you. If performance is your main priority then the 350 is the way to go. After driving the 350, the 250 does feel slow but it is really an averaged powered car. It is about as powerful as the IS300, so it is not as slow as everyone is making it sound. The AWD is fantastic for snow and if you want a manual trans the 250 is the only choice.

this might sound lame...but my reason was i didn't want to much horse power. i wanted something right under 200hp. the fastest car i've ever owned was a ae86 Levin GT-Apex(RHD ) it was about 190hp and it felt way to fast for me. didn't need much power for sliding

IS250 perfect for me

The reason I bought a '08 350 was because I didn't even realize a '08 250 existed haha. I always thought that 250 was an '07 model and 350 was an '08 model...boy was I wrong. If I had knew about the '08 250 I think I would have bought the 250 over my current 350 for the better mileage and for the manual transmission. If you're in Cali with a new '08 250 and would like to trade for my new '08 350 (paying the difference of course), gimme a shout

Default 350 for us

I'm a car guy and my wife isn't, but she knew enough that when we got her a new car it had to be luxurious and sporty. I have liked the 2G IS since it debuted and I told my wife about it. Previously she was in love with the Infiniti G35 coupe which was a nice enough car, but not Lexus quality.

To make a long story short, we went with the IS350 because it's luxurious (for her) and sporty (for me), but the only other car we looked at was the BMW 335i 4 door (the 2G G35 was too new). She didn't like the interior of the 335i so we got the Lexus though I must admit that to me the IS was the better choice since she can drive it forever whereas I've never heard that BMW's were bullitproof. Also, the IS is coupe like in profile, which makes it nearly a 2 door IMHO and besides, we have more than 2 people in the car about 4 times a year so the size of the back seat is not an issue for us.

funny thing u said the coupe styling makes it look two door...

the other day I got a parking violation since I parked on University grounds without my parking pass and the ticket said Make: lexus style: 2 Door Color:black haha ... I guess it really looks like a coupe if an officer during the evening thought it was a coupe...
