Default Curious: What made you pick the 250 over the 350 or Vise Versa?

All opinions welcome...

I am just curious as to why everyone with the 2Gen IS chose the model they did.

I mean I think every owner of the 350 wanted the speed and power it offered over the 250..it is a night and day difference...

but I am curious if there are any other reasons why people chose the 350 over the 250 and also why 250 owners chose the 250 over the 350?

Please post your reasons...thanks everyone

My reason was for the 350 over 250 was simply - Power/speed

Im a student, So i didnt have a whole lot of money to buy a new car and the IS250 was more then enough for me. Especially since i got it nearly fully loaded(nav). Also i wanted a Lexus to so that very much swayed my decision. The parents wanted the GS, But i felt the GS were for a little older crowd.

Speed Wise, I think i can say Everyone wants Speed

But i would rather have the 250 then no 2IS

Interesting... well its easy, when i buy a new car i ask myself some very specific questions:

1. Whats the best brand in terms of reliability? easy, toyota
2. Does toyota have any rwd cars? yes
3. What are the rwd toyota cars? IS/GS/SC/LS
4. Whats the mdl i can afford easily? IS
5. Which IS has the most powerful motor? IS350

done... (oh wait... i guess it is power )

Well really I had no choice. In Singapore, Lexus only offers IS250 RWD. No MT, AWD, no 350.

Run that statement by all the new Tundra owners. 6 major recalls in less than 2yrs. 500k tundras involved in one of those. Such a nice truck too, but the new one is just plagued with problems.

I agree with you though. When I am in either of my cars(both toyota's) I never think about it breaking down.

i really wanted a manual. if it was available in a 350 i woulda gotten that. also there was a manual sitting at the dealership exactly how i wanted it so i jumped on it rather than doing a special order.

250 based on price and fuel mileage. My 250 has averaged 27.1 mpg for the first 10K. Not too bad!
