But--whatever LPS settings you are having done, wait to do them for when you find another dealer to turn of the DRL's, and maybe they'll do it as part of the LPS changes. Otherwise, they'll charge you labor (probably .1 or .2 of an hour's time).

thanks for all your input. yes i've read the whole dlr threads and do have the "pdf" file that everyone has online. but the only lps options that the dealer lists are about 15 items. either way i'll still try, can't hurt.

in regards to canadais...IMO, if its such a huge safety factor i think it would be required by law. when it starts to get dark i turn my lights on, i don't ever plan to drive around in the dark with my lights off. and if its during the daytime and other drivers can't see me just because i dont have the dlr on...then those drivers got other issues an shouldn't be on the road in general.

I would take it to another dealer, if they won't do it take a road trip to another dealer. That PDF is for Lexus and Lexus only, They might even ask you how you got that. The one Lexus gives you is only like 10 options and that is not one. I don't understand it either but just keep fighting and you will get them turned off.

just as the service advisor to put the request in, and the tech should take care of it

WTF? I can't believe some people! It's not Lexus's fault for someone elses kid getting ran over. Lexus probably tried to sell them a model with a back up camera in the first place.

I've been thinking about asking my dealership to turn mine off... Everyone at the dealership loves my car guess I must be the only one with MODS that goes there

Was just at the dealership this weekend for my 30 day/1000 mile service.

I had them do the "personalized settings" I wanted. Printed out the 15 settings sheet they have on the website, and then just added in a #16 to have them turn off the Daytime Running Lights.

They didn't have any problem doing it, and I asked how much it would cost to have them turned back on, and they said free since I bought the car there!

Thanks Lexus of Bellevue!

At which point you no longer have high-beams, since it's the same bulb.

Not the best advice.

And by the way, the litle light I think you are talking about is the "city light" and is not the daytime running light. So taking out that bulb is not the answer.
