But i dont think you get the sports pedal which are like 150 from sewell

So you can pay $650 more for Lux ($500) and the extra pedals ($150), or just get the sports package and also get the sport suspension with it free (at cost of the rear sunshade and the wood).

Neither is fully loaded though, you can easily spend $8000+ -more- on options beyond either one, without even getting into the extra wheels or body kits or exhaust your dealer will sell you.

Nav and ML together are almost 4k... dynamic cruise control is almost 3k... then there's park assist, sat radio, rear spoiler, headlamp washers....and so on... none of which are part of either package.

Yup Those are all options that arent part of any package. Does the sports package have rain sensing wipers?

Premium pack sucks

Well, as I mentioned before, when I called Lexus and pointed out my sport package car is supposed to have illuminated door sill plates and it came with aluminum ones they apologized and sent a technician to where I work to swap the illuminated plates onto the car for free.

Anyone else who gets AL plates on their car could do the same I'm sure (or even point it out on picking the car up to save time).

If it's really a typo I guess they'll correct it after they give out enough sets of free plates... but they didn't fix it after I pointed it out and got the free plates (while they DID sorta fix their ML problem when I pointed that out and got my $ back for it... it's just sad they fixed the typo by removing the option listing from the web site).

Ill note that a lot has changed in the newer models then the 06. My rear spoiler as I recall was part of the 06 sports package (I didn’t pay any extra for it, that’s for sure). Seems to me there was more separation of models in the 06.

BTW: The "Sports Suspension" is very much worth it. I see regular IS350's and think they look like 4x4's by how high they sit.

I would not have bought an IS350without the Sports model.

^^ I agree about the Sport Suspension..

re: sills
I will have to consider it a typo on the website for the sills, when the cars are coming over from Japan with Aluminum sill plates when Sports Package is ordered.

Joe Z

P.S. - As you know Lexus.com has a few typos across the model lineups...

Oh I know... between the ML thing and the door sills their typos have just about paid for an extended warranty for me by now

Still, the sills are likely free for the asking until they correct it (or decide they're shipping the cars wrong, which'd be even funnier)... and either way I don't think that ought to tip the scales for anyone deciding between the two packages... the suspension and the wood vs. aluminum interior (and maybe the $500 savings) seem the bigger factors to me.

Rear spoiler is a stand alone option, it is NOT part of any package and was never included in the Sports Package. Options have been pretty much constant across the board from 2006-2008.

If the spoiler was on the car when you bought it it was included in the MSRP ($355), so you paid for it.

Does this count for for 2006 and 2007 models? This is a great thread for prospective buyers.

In '06 and '07, the Lux and Sport packages were further differentiated by the sill trim: Lux had (blue) illuminated, and Sport had (silver) non-illuminated.

Sure, it can count for any model. There's not a huge difference inbetween the models anyway.

Not exactly. AWD Lux Pkg differs:

Premium Package $850
Auburn bird's-eye maple interior trim
Perforated leather-trimmed interior
Ventilated front seats

Luxury Package $2,205
Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column
Lexus Memory System to control power driver's and front passenger's seats (except lumbar), outside mirrors and steering wheel
Illuminated doorsill scuff plates
Power rear sunshade
Rain-sensing intermittent windshield wipers with mist cycle
Electrochromic (auto-dimming) outside mirrors with auto tilt-down in reverse
Bi-xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps
Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)
Of course, good luck trying to find an AWD with Lux that doesn't have the Premium too--I guess it effectively makes them the same as RWD, unless you special order Lux w/o Premium (no 18" option, though). This is a change from '07--the '07 AWD had heated/vented seats std, and and it was impossible to find a Lux Pkg w/o the wood trim (which was a stand alone option). Not sure about '06, but I think the only way to get heated/vented seats on AWD was to get the Lux Pkg.
