Heres a story,
The other day i was giving my friend a ride, were both 40 and we were in bumper to bumper traffic going about 10mph, we came up on this bus stop and there was this girl about 13-15yrs old and she was just staring hard at the car, my friend says 'look the young tuna checking out the car', after we pass the bus stop we rode on in silence for about 10sec, then my friend says... 'i gotta get me one of these...' and i said... 'yep'

When I first got my 2006 model people did look. Now.. not even a glance. I see at least 10 2IS's a day. Like 80% of them are 250's though. Honestly this car is more common than new civic's, camrys, corrollas, and accords. At least in the Bay Area. I'm guessing that's because there are 1. so many asians around here who'd buy japanese before european and 2. everyone around here makes similar amounts of money? dunno...

Even in the little-big hick town of Bakersfield, CA....the IS is a dime a dozen. I have noticed in Bakersfield that I am one of few people with red-outs though.
I do get jealous comments at work about my car due to the fact that I am the youngest in the office (what a bunch of haters!).
I guess the older employees are bitter that they have to drive a Suburban or Minivan....haha.

I get looks now that I have done many things to the car. Mostly younger people that are checking it out.
If my wife drives it she tells me she gets all the guys giving the thumbs up, looking, and fluting with her. lol...They just don't want to see me!

I have a GS430, but had an IS for the weekend when I took the GS in for the 45k service and was mainly getting looks because of my age (20 year old) not because of the car, I see IS everywhere here ... Now when I'm in the GS I get all kinds of looks all day long, and I haven't even put rims or dropped it yet

I have to agree with other so calers that the ISX50 is a dime a dozen. I got my car back in March of '06 and there were no lookers then. And even now that my car is slightly modded, still, it's a dime a dozen. But I don't really care. I got the car because I like it. I don't need anyone checking it out to feed my ego. LOL

Nobody really looks at my IS except for co-workers or friends. I definitely don't feel as much attention as I get when I'm in my Porsche or my Evo. The IS is kinda stealthy, which I can appreciate.

I only get lookers on campus cause yah most people are paying their thousands in tuitions and can not afford a luxury car and girls sometimes say sexy car...nice car ect... and get lookers randomly driving around wherever... which I think b/c people look at the car and see a boy who looks 16 years of age... Otherwise its nothing special..I get 100 times more lookers when I drive my friend's SL65 AMG

Never see any x50's here in Oregon, especially in central and southern parts of the state. Usually I get two or three compliments per week. maybe it helps that we can't pump out own gas and some of the weekly compliments are from gas attendants. Makes me wonder what would have happened if I had purchased the Lotus Elise that I almost got instead.
