Default You Nav Hackers

i propapy getting a portable nav with a bluetooth system i can hook up to the car speakers. can i hack anything with that nav system to the car like dvd player etc....

some guys hack thier navagational system to play dvd's while they drive thier car. i was asking if you can hack a portable (garmin, tom tom) nav. system to do such things as the lexus nav?

Most of the portable GPS/Navigation systems rely on SD/CF cards for map information. That's it. No CD/DVD or anything else. That is why they are small and called portable I guess. So, if you can't fit a DVD in to one of those things, hacking them to play DVD is probably out of the question.

Not true...the Mio line of GPS units are Windows CE based, and there are a ton of sites that show you how to do all kinds of crap with them.

Do a Google search for something like "hack wince gps"

You probably can't play directly from a dvd, but you can rip movies over to a micro SD card and play them off the device.

you can hack a nav system to play dvd? hmmm do you have the link cause i can't find it on the search....

The hack is to allow those cars that already CAN play DVDs, e.g., those with the Mark Levinson/Navigation package, to do so while driving. There is no way to hack cars with the base stereo to do it, as they have a CD changer, not a DVD changer.
