Default Wheel Dilemma - What To Do

About a year ago I purchased Lexus IS Chrome wheels and took off the 18" that came with the car.

I'm thinking of selling or putting winter tires on the OEM wheels but when I tried to purchase tires last fall, I couldn't find any. Plenty of tires for the 17''s but 18"- nothing.

So........... do I sell the 18" original wheels? Thoughts on pricing?

They have about 300-400 miles and are spotless.

Anybody know where to purchase winter tires for 18" wheels?

Any problems to consider if I do locate 18" winter tires?

The fact that you are considering 18" winter over a good all season tire indicates to me that you are dealing with a considerable amount of snow. In this case, you shouldn't be running 18s, shouldn't be running 255s in the rear, and shouldn't be running a staggered setup.

I would reevaluate your situation to see if A/S will work, if not, move to a 17" setup.

You can get SNOW tires for your 18" rim set up. You just have to get them early from TireRack or Discount Tire. They only carry so many of the SNOW tires and once they sell out that is it. Just order them a few months ahead of time next season and you will be fine. Many in IL are using the staggered set up for there winters and I will be doing the same. I sold my 17" rims to another member on here.
