Question My dealer's offer/ IS250 AWD/ good/bad?

Hi guys...this is my dealers' offer for the 2008 IS250 AWD..out the door price.

$45,352 [he said its $500 over invoice] matador red/blk leather

fully loaded, GS 5 spoke alum.alloys/michelin all season tires, alum.sport pedals, illum.door sills, metallic interior accent, rear spoiler, clear bra

Should I take it? or just get an RX? [for the wife]..but love the keyless start in the IS..

[I also have a trade in- '98 Honda Accord @ $3500]

Even on lexus.com, the most expensive you can get is $42K+TTL for a 250AWD.

Even with all the "extras" you list, it seems hard to believe they'd be worth the difference between sticker and invoice on this car.

BTW, the door sills and the spoiler come as part of the most expensive option package (per lexus.com). Clear bra, sport pedals, and the GS wheels can probably be all found for cheaper through our lovely CL vendors. Ask for a full breakdown of what all these extras cost. There is almost no way I cn conceive of the dealer giving you a fair shake with that price.

Check your PM for 2 contacts at another dealer. Please make sure you use my name when you talk to them. I am good friends of the family and they will take care of you and locate what you want...not what they have!

Let me know how it goes and if I can be of more help

Question breakdown of price....

HI guys...here is the breakdown of the car's price the dealer gave me...

"Here is the final result of OUR work:
We are at 500 bucks over invoice: 36,645., Full 3m guard installed,
995., (Rear Spoiler included in the 36645price) metallic trim ( 3 piece
installed) 395.,
Alloy pedals 3 piece installed 395., GS5 spoke alloys Part#4261a30030
with Michelins insalled all four 3548.
Total 41978 . If you still want the front fender the price installed is
695.

"Tax rate is 7.25%, 143 bucks for new plates. 25 bucks for filing with
the state for you. And 150 for the Document summary fee"

Thoughts?

You can do a little better.

Dont let the dealership give you that $500. over invoice Bull****. They also get insentives from the Manufacturer, Which means they pay even less that the invoice says for the vehicle in most cases. They just dont tell you. They simply pin up their regional "invoice" price.

Yes, it is called a "Kick-Back" of 3-5%, and I always use this as leverage with new car purchases. The dealers always downplay this and make it seem like it is only 2%, but that is there way of playing the game of sales.

The Toyota 'holdback' is 2% but there's probably more incentives based on sales volume.
