Wondering if a 9inch front wheel with +40 offset will fit in the front. Not so worried about slightly fender/wheel well rubbing, but more so that it won't hit the front control arm or crush the fender.
Attempting to fit the fattest tire I can in the front. 255 has been done on 8.5" wheels, but a 265 on a 9"?

+1 for fat tires....I am with you! Test fit it to see how much room you have!
I agree with you! HAHA I want to stuff more tire up front on my car. 19 x 8.5 +31 and I have 235/35/19/ I want more tire on that puppy! I would have to mod the front fender to do this and I am considering it down the road when i tear up these tires.
Go to Discount tire and ask them to test fit a tire they have laying around to see how it fits
post feedback as I would like to know also.

the wheel would most probably hit the fender and bumper while turning.. and deff. mess your car up..
sretch tires are the shizz... but wideee stretch tires in the back ftw .. if that makes any sense..

Not looking for stretch tires. The most amount of rubber on the ground for the most amount of grip. If need be will be rolling some of the fender out to fit the tire.

its not a matter of the tire rubbing on the outside, its a matter of the rim hitting the suspension on the inside, plus if its that tucked in and ur looking for really beefy tires its going to rub horribly on the inside and probably feather the inside pretty badly

at 9" +40 offset in the front, I don't believe its going to hit the inside control arm. It becomes the matter if the tire is too fat its going to rub the inside control arm. And if its entirely too wide the rim would crush the front fender if it bottomed out. I believe I have found my answer and a 9" +40 front wheel will fit the car. Not sure how much it will stick out past the fender from the side. Now is how much tire can I shove without hitting the control arm and crushing the fender.
I know it will rub the wheel lining. I had a 8" + 45 front wheel(could have gone 8.5") with a 245/40/18 on the IS300. Nothing rubbed except the wheel liner during hard left turn.
