Check out the pics from the "We Own The Night Thread" you may have seen that already. I think it looks great with the black roof. The CF hood can add a little character as well. it all comes down to what you like and your tastes.

Too contrasting.

You'll change your Lexus into a Honda...

i also think it is too much contrast. I have a friend with a white g35 coupe with CF hood and black roof, and it does not look right to me. whatever floats your boat.

Go for it, just go "ebony and ivory" haha. Through on a cf trunk and maybe a cf lip and it will look pretty sweet.

Sounds more like a Highway patrol car in California.

The black of the roof won't look right with the hue of the carbon fiber hood. I had a carbon fiber hood and once I got my roof blacked out, I immediately took the hood off and sold it.

Most carbon fiber hoods have a very slight greenish tint, and you won't notice it until you put it next to something black. Poor quality CF has a more pronounced tint, almost yellowish, and it gets worse the more you expose it to the sun. The solid black of the roof doesn't look good with the "kinda-grey" color of the hood - trust me on this, I've done it.

black roof+CF hood sounds good as long as you paint the side of CF hood to match your car color
but IMO..once you put the CF hood on it..you gotta go CF all the way..
CF hood..CF trunk..CF front lip..CF rear lip..LOL but that's just me!

or you can always put that CF hood and use black Vinly on the roof to
see how it looks..if you like it..then go paint it black..
if you don't like it..just take off the vinly!

Get the carbon fiber hood, paint the roof, take a pic, then post it on this forum! Then we'll be able to decide if we like it or not.

Unless JavyLSU has some older pics he can share.

You are doing exactly the same thing I wanted to do..
but personally, I think CF hood will ruin the lux. image of an IS.

Do people usually put a vinyl on the roof? or they actually paint it?
