Well, you really don't want some hack learning on your car! Get references, look at pictures of their installs (if they don't have pictures of installs in luxury cars, go elsewhere) and make sure you're comparing apples to apples. $1000 for a top quality, custom install, in a luxury car is reasonable, provided it's TOP QUALITY.

Good point. I dont mind spending a bit more since this is a luxury car. Chuck Music (Cmusic) from these forums actually recommended this shop. He knows the owner & the owner is setting everything up for me.

IMO you r being too afraid of going into an aftermarket system. There is nothing THAT special on our cars (LUXURY CARS...naaaaa, same thing dressing ARMANI SHOES MAN!!). There is no such a thing as LUXURY ELECTRICITY!! It works the same way!! Have you checked the post about how to hack the NAV for being able to used some functions while driving? NOTHING OUT OF THE NORMAL WIRING OF ANY OTHER CAR!!! And put numbers together man.....a custom front piece specially made for your car (basically a unique design) it will cost you at least $300 bucks, plus another $300 on a decent (not a great and single din) HU. With $600 you can buy the best DSP ever and tap into your stock wiring....not mentioning that you can TUNE-UP your system in a high-end way with a computer via bluetooth conection with your DSP.....doesn't it sounds better than modifying your stock unit?
Just spending the same money man.....better options thou!
