Hey guys, I recently decided I want to remove the little sticker decal that came on the car from the dealer. In my case it says "Nalley". My question is whether or not removing the sticker myself will cause any damage to the underlying paint. Does the dealer use some sort of special solvent that will remove the adhesive without harming the paint?

yea a flat razor blade. it will not do anything to the flat surface, in this case, the paint, unless you go at it at the wrong angle. so be careful. when you get the hang of it, it works really good. i guess heating it a little will help to remove it, but then again, when it gets hot, the glue has a tendency to stick even more.

No razor blades!
Depending on the sticker type, you may be able to pull them off yourself by lifting it from one corner gently with your nail and pulling it off.
If it leaves some residue, take some wax and apply it over the area. Done deal.
Every car that either I or my family purchases, I take this dealer sticker off.

umm like everyone said use ur fingernail to peel it off..Could heat it up but it takes more time. DONT put nail polish to take off the residue. It will eat up ur clear coat. Use Goo gone or just some good old fashion elbow grease to rub it off.

When I purchased my SC from Nalley I waited until the deal was done and then advised the Finance guy to have his people remove the decal.....oR my charge for being a rolling billboard was $1000.
I would bring it in to Nalley and ask them to remove it since you did not request they add it......................FALCON 1

I've heard of using razor blades to remove stickers from glass, but never from paint. I'd do what other are suggesting and heat the sticker with a hair dryer, than carefully peel it off.

Yeah metal razor blade on paint is a no no!! ![No No No](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/nono.gif)
(maybe if your trained)
They do make plastic blades, just like the metal razor blades..
and a can of 3M adhesive remover is safe for clear coat and some painted surfaces..
Enjoy!!

Thank goodness in California they only put on those cheap, mostly plastic license plate frames. That’s the first thing I take off. They’re kind of tacky and I’d rather not give the dealer free advertising.
