I guess (looking at other posts) that unless I start cutting wires, that the Artist/album etc. menus become unusable when the car is moving?

Yep. It's well worth the effort though. Not too different from diffusing a bomb.

here some proof of USA-SPEC PA-20 real "audio quality"
Unit 1 - USA-SPEC PA-20
Car: Lexus IS350 with Mark Levinson
Connection: 12-pin CD/SAT port
Input signal 1kHz, 0 db (channel 2, purple line)
Signal Source iPod Video 5.5Gen
Output signal - inverted output used for better understanding (channel 1, yellow "line")
As you can see output signal modulated (distorted)

"Frequency Response"
Input signal (CH2 purple - 440Hz square wave)
Output signal (CH1 yellow)
Not even close to be good!

Now different USA-SPEC PA-20 unit...
Difference in amplification between left and right channels are more than visible.
This one was pretty close to burn my amplifier

So I take it the discrepancy between purple and yellow lines shows the distortion caused by the USA Spec adapter?

Yes, it is. It charged the ipod while its in use as well. Pretty much the same functionality as the OEM Lexus Ipod Adaptor kit, however this one use CD Changer emulator instead of SAT as for the OEM kit. In addition to this, you still be able to use/install the OEM SAT radio (Sirius or XM) adaptor kit along with it if you like.
