My impressions of F-sport parts on a is250
today i dropped my car off to get some tsib done. As i was waiting for my loaner car i saw that my local dealership had some tuned cars. But a matador red is250 caught my eye.. at First i only noticed the 19" f-sport wheels. Not only did it have the wheels. it was decked out in F-Sport parts upon further examination.
ALL F-Sport parts...
Bilstein shock set
Springs
air intake system
19" Forged Wheels on potenza's
Exhaust
when i finally realized it had all of this, i asked my salesman for a test drive. and immediately i noticed huge difference compared to my stock 08 is250 with 18" turanaza tires.
My test drive of the is250 consisted of mashing on the gas at every light and every corner for about 20 minutes. i wanted to test the cornering, listen to the f-sport intake and the exhaust, as well as listen and feel the ride quality.
the ride quality was noticeable stiffer in cornering with the combination of the springs and shocks. The ride and road nose felt alot smoother and queiter than my stock is250 on 18's. I feel as if any road nose i hear now is due to my turanzas. but could the ride quality be better with the bilstein shocks and spring combo with the 19" forged wheels. Anyways having seen the car in person i really dig the whole setup and im definately going to drop my car now.
Now on to the F-sport intake. I currently have the joe-z pipe and i enjoy the throatiness of it at higher rpms. I feel as is the f-sport intake was double the throatiness and possibly made the throttle response a tad bit better, but that could possibly be in my head. but it was definately a nice sound.
My last impresion is on the exhaust. Its ok, ill stick with my tananbe. the only thing i liked about it was that its not so deep even at normal acceleration at the lower rpm. thats my only gripe about the tanabe, sometimes when im just cruising slowly with the snowbirds it was not as deep and bassy.
here are some pictures sorry about the crappy pictures from my cell phone.
oh and my dealership is ridiculous wanting this much for this car.
