Default Navigation and ML

Hello list,

Sorry for this question as it might be a dumb one, but do all of the IS's with navigation have the Mark Levinson system? If not how do you tell if the car has it? Is it like the GS where it say "mark levinson" on the front of the radio?

Thanks in advance.

No. The Nav and ML options are separate.

There are actually FOUR possible set-ups:

1) Nav only
2) ML only (different 14 speaker set-up, instead of stock 13 speakers)
3) Nav option with ML option : Nav with ML 14-speaker set-up, but no DVD player (this is very rare, and usually is custom ordered).
4) Nav+ML : Nav + ML with DVD player.

I just built an 08 IS on Lexus.com but there is no option for the ML. What gives, did they delete it for 08?

It depends on your location. When you enter a zip code, it limits the options that are available based on your region. You can special order cars with parts, but as I, and many others have found out, special ordering cars can be a pain....

ML shouldn't be a problem.; MT's usually are.... Good Luck!

I agree that especial orders are a real pain and even most of your local SA don't want to go thru the associated hassles. Last year I bought a car with all the options/package I wanted from a dealer in Scottsdale, Arizona and drove it to Texas. It was a whole lot cheaper, quicker, and pain free.

I live in FL and I have a 08 IS350 with Navi amd ML with DVD player and Luxury package. I did not special order, but when I bought my car this was the equipment I wanted and the dealer did not have one in stock. They did a search and had one coming in from the dock, they said that it did not have ML, but when I got the car it had the ML in it, from what I understand it is hard to find an IS350 with Luxury package, with Navi and ML

Apart from being regional once you give em your zip they -did- delete the ML-only option entirely from the website a couple of months ago...that's my fault...sorry... As far as I know it's still an available option on a special order though (and I'm pretty sure that was the only way to ever get it anyway)... It's $940 MSRP, and I think around $740-ish invoice.

I've always wanted to get my is250 with ML but the local lexus has never "i mean ever" had them in stock. There are plenty of 250's with nav but only 1 350 with nav+ml

I special ordered through the sales manager and it wasn't any hassle at all...

Now, thje first -3- dealers/salesmen I talked to, it was obvious it would've been a huge hassle. So I just kept looking for someone who wasn't an idiot.
