Default Hybrid IS possibilities...

There are a couple of possible options:

One can be a more gas-efficient hybrid.

A) Let's say the IS shared the same hybrid set-up as the Camry hybrid, which means a standard 2.4-liter I-4 hybrid engine with 192-horsepower that achieves 33/34 city/highway.

The "IS250h" would be slower and heavier than the IS250, but more gas efficient (IS250 is 21/29 mpg).

And how about a performance oriented hybrid?

B) Let's say the IS shared the same hybrid set-up as the GS450h, which means a a standard 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine with 340-horsepower that achieves 22/25 mpg.

The "IS350h" will also be slower and heavier than the IS350, but more gas efficient (IS350 is 18/25 mpg).

Would you do it?

Hell yeah I would.

The biggest gripe I have about the current hybrids available are that they're ugly as heck. I definitely wouldn't mind driving a hybrid IS though!

If an IS350h is made (and what are the real chances of that?), I would hope that it would get slightly better mileage, maybe something around 22+/30 mpg. Maybe I'm a little optimistic on the mpg #'s, but that would be a truly great combination of hp and efficiency.

Not interested. The cost for hybrids still isn't even close to worth it unless you drive -insane- amounts of miles per year.

yea i wouldnt be interested either, atleast not for an IS, its supposed to be a sports sedan, and already lacks the sports part, a hybrid will be over kill. It goes against the cars philosophy.

however an LS600h is a diff story, i love that car

I chose to keep my 250 only due to the loss of value in a trade. If a Hybrid 250 AWD was available a year ago when I purchased the car, I probably wold have put serious consideration to it. Premium is $4.40 per gallon in Chicago today.

I said keep the 350, because I can already get around 22 city with a little effort.

That is some extraordinary city mpg I usually get about 19 city, and about 23-24 highway. I feel that any IS hybrid should get at least 22+ mpg without any effort. Ideally 24+ mpg city would be more desirable.

I voted to keep my vehicle status quo. Those Toyota Primus Hybrids look like something "Cousin It" from the Addams Family would drive. Plus I don't pile on the mileage for me to benefit from one.

A light foot goes a long way. Granted, if it was stop and go...it would probably be a bit lower.....
