IS250 AWD here. just hit the 3,000 mark and i notice, every so often after i start the car, it shakes a little bit. anyone else ever have this problem?

 

I noticed it too, but I am not seeing it any more now.

 

I have almost 50k, and have not noticed this. I would keep an eye on it, if it continues definitely bring the car in.

 

Yea that def. does not sound normal on a Lexus...I would place a call into the service dept. and schedule a check up

 

Yea it does not sound normal. Can you consistently reproduce it? Or else service department just laugh at you and try to convince you nothing is wrong.

 

It is possible that an engine mount it bad, loose, or maybe a VVT-I issue. Get into the dealer asap in order to avoid possible further damage.

 

When it "shakes" are the RPMs low? Have you shifted into drive in less than 5 seconds of starting the car? If so, then I think its normal. Let the car run for more than 10 seconds after starting. If you start the car and immediately put the car in drive, it will stall.

 

this happens with my is250 also, but wouldn't know what to tell service tech if it is not reproduced at the time he checks it out since it doesn't always happen
