Did you try your insurance company? Many will repair or replace it so its at no cost to you....I have read threads where a few members have replaced it a few times. I would say 250$ to 500$. This is from past experience so it may be different on our IS???

What happened?

Had mine changed through my insurance....no cost to me, but I have glass coverage. Most folks in AZ do b/c there are so many rocks along our freeways.

I got mine replaced after some punk kids decided to make my car shooting practice with a BB gun. Luckily they only shot the windshield but the OEM glass cost me around $600. The dealer first quoted me $800.... At that time i had no choice for aftermarket glass. Couldn't go through insurance since my deductible was $1000

the dealer quoted me $900 without labor and without rain sensor. this is the lexus glass. if I went with a non-lexus glass (PPT was tje option)
it cost me around $350 with labor. they came to me and finished in less then 40 min.

This is becoming more common in the Insurance world. The cost savings is much better and it helps reduce petty claims to keep insurance down. Lets face it you dont want to put a claim for 500-600 as it will kill you down the road. Now what the OP would claim will not raise insurance but some companies will replace at no cost to you and some do not! I have had this happen to me in the past.

If it saves 500$ and wont cost you anything I would try. This for most has nothing to do with your comprehensive! Next time just call your Insurance Agent and check first before you spend the $$.
