I get a lot of random scratches on my black IS250. I was wondering if this is normal? bcuz my other cars did not do this, but i believe the paint is really soft? bcuz i have a pretty decent amount of scraches. Please share what you guys are experiencing. thx

Hey Bull,
I have the same problem with my black sapphire too! I think it is because it is black we notice it more then lighter color cars. I just hate it because i cleaned it this weekend and noticed a scratch on the driver door that wasnt there last weekend.
The paint is softer then some cars. I noticed that when i had to buff out some bird poop. I just keep it waxed and buffed

Yes, the pretty dark cars are scratch magnets. I knew this when I bought my Obsidian IS, but I love dark colored cars when they are all clean...so shinny! You just have to work that much harder to buff out the fine scratches and swirls. Wash/dry your car with micro fiber mitt/towels, use two separate buckets, and Zainos works great to get out the annoying little scratches.

Black just reveals the scratches more, my Tungsten Pearl is a scratch magnet as well. Lexus did use much softer paint than on my gen1. many have complained about this on CL.
