I would actually say the other way around

Except for the reliability part.

The Mercedes handles better but is not as fast.

Maintenance costs for the Merc is gonna outway the Lex. Lex FTW in performance, looks, and reliability IMO

For everyday driving, and if you purchase the car: IS350.

For splurge once-in-a-while driving, and if you lease: C350.

Stick Lexus for reliability IMO. I am a fan of the MB C350, but not the sensor issues that have plagued Mercedes similar to BMW. These issues become very expensive outside of warranty.

I like the new style of the benz but i just don't like the pop up navigation. Only C-class i would consider to pick up would be the C63.

For reliability, looks, luxury and comfort I would pick the IS350. If sportiness was the main concern, I would look towards the 335 and not the C350.

I test drove both and the Lexus was the best by far for me. The Lexus interior was better. The front of the Merc looked better to me, but the rear of Merc just didn't do it, way to plain looking.

You can't give me a Chrysler-Benz evn if you pay me to own one. Every one of their models have big problems. I had a Benz in the shop one day and its brake-by-wire system was experiencing abnormal behaviour. I call a local dealer and asked to speak with a tech since he could give me an understanding about how it works. I asked him what are the common components that you've experienced failures with so I could inspect them. His response was "We've replaced everything in these BBW systems and one a few models more than once or twice." He was asking if we had issues like these and if he could come over and apply with us instead since he wa getting fedup of the headaches he was dealing with on these cars. I hung up the phone gaining a lot of knowledge about the vehicle yet not find any info about what to do about the problem aside from selecting to not get involved in it.

i have both the is350 and saks fifth edition c350... here's my 2 cents.. power and handling.. is350.. the c350 steering is more on the luxury side.. not as responsive as the is350. interior wise.. personally i feel the is350 is more 'comfortable'. although the c350 w/ nav has the cool automatic flip up and close nav screen... the is350 has a lot more basic options than the c. just a note that i realized after i leased the c350 (thank god its only leased). c350 does not come with auto tilt sideview mirrors and no memory seat settings... and the fact that its not even an option blows me away for a 40k luxury car. audio wise... the is350 ML system blows the c350 Logic7 away. only thing cool about the c350 is that it comes with an internal 4gb drive where u can upload ur cds to the car. modification wise... good luck with anything aftermarket that has to do with electrical.. ie. after market HIDs, lights, etc. any aftermarket parts is sensed by the c350 ecu and it generates error messages and codes... when i tired to change the parking lights to LEDs to match my 8000k headlights.. it created a 'bulb out' error and deactivated the parking lights. over all the c350 is a nice cruising car... itll turn a few heads for sure... since its still relatively new on the market. but then again so did the isx50 when it first came out.
