Question JDM Visors: How to remove?

Hi All,

I know a few members on here have the JDM visors. I'm parting out my car and wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how to remove the JDM visors without breaking them. When I installed them, it was stuck on with 3M double sided tape, this stuff is sticky!

Thanks in advance for the input.

OT: Do you have any pics of your car with the CH's on? One of my favorite wheels. Is it possible to get 19s to fit on our car?

^Please do not post 'dibs' on the visors or questions about the sale. OP is asking how to remove the visors. If you have other questions, use the private messaging function of the forum.

The the OP: You can't use fishing line (nor would you want to) because you'll have trouble getting the line in there. Park your car in direct sunlight for a couple of hours - this will soften the double sided tape to the point to where you'll be able to simply lift off the visors, and you'll see the tape peeling off. Go slowly, and most if not all of the tape should remain on the visor. I did this when I took mine off and I didn't have a single bit of residue left on the door trim.

Thanks for the quick response Javy! There hasn't been sun in NY for a few days now but I will attempt with hair dryer on low heat.

Sorry guys, visors have been spoken for, even before I wanted to sell my car. You know who you are...

Thanks again!

How about sticker remover? You can buy those at the local auto parts store.

anyway, if it involves 3m tape, use a hairdryer to heat it up then peel slowly.

try spraying it down with windex first. Let it sit there for like couple minutes. Then use dental floss and peel it off slowly.

There will be 3m residue on the car so try using some goo-gone and rub it off.

whoops my bad

cant you just spray goo gone where the 3m tape is at it should soften the adhesive after you use the hair dryer

^ I wouldn't spray goo-gone anywhere near my car - very carefully use some on a rag, maybe. The problem is that you can't see or touch where the 3M tape is because it's completely shielded between the visor and the door - the tape isn't exposed at all. Heck, it's hard to even wash your windows with those things on! If you want to use a chemical, 3M makes a spray that's specifically lableled "Adhesive Remover," and is safe to use on automotive surfaces. I didn't need to use any chemicals, though - and I wouldn't unless its absolutely necessary.

Default Taking off JDM Lexus visors off

Hey guys

Im selling my wifes car but before I trade it in or sell it I would like to part it. What is the best way to take the visors off? I don't want to bend or break them. Thanks
