i would wait until AFTER summer to get a cf hood...the resin will yellow in the heat.

Although that's not an issue if it's garage-kept - right? In my situation, the only time it would be out in the sun is between home and the office.

Thanks to everyone who supplied pics and comments - it made the decision easier. I purchased a Seibon OEM-style carbon fiber hood and just installed it. Here's a couple teaser pics that I quickly took at work - better ones are forthcoming.
