Default Pics - painted grill and badges, red outs

So, I have had my IS for only a month now, but my latest mods are shown:
-Painted grill frame
-Painted badges
-red outs on tails
-smoke out on rear reflectors

I used the Duplicor Metallcast smoke. I put on (4) coats followed by 3-4 coats of clear.

This doesn't look like black pearl. I think if I had stuck to (2) coats, it would have been fine.... it looks more like a gunmetal or titanium color, but I like it much better than stock.

Those are the only pics I have right now. I was hoping for more of a black pearl look, but whatever, I like it. The grill frame is almost similar in color to the insert in the grill...so IMO it looks pretty good.

Only thing I'd do differently is apply a clear bra material over the grill. I have had this done for one week and already have a few small chips.

OK, so my next steps are to add a carlsson spoiler and do tint. Unfortunately I've been pulled over for front tint before and don't want to deal with it right now...so I am only going to tint the rear windows. I'm just debating what I should do next, the spoiler or tint. I'm on a budget so I can't do it all at once. What would u guys suggest I do first?

I did spoiler then tint but only because I found a good deal on the spoiler. Either way, it'll look good.

yeah, Cali eats it, no tint on the fronts. I had it for 2 years on my IS300, but then got pulled over. I figure its not worth the hassle and risk of getting pulled over so this time I'll just tint the rears...eventhough that doesn't look as good

I like the clean look. But it's hard for me to tell the difference between the OEM grill and the new painted grill.

Do you have a Before and After pic of the grill?

I really like what you're doing with the car so far.

Car looks great with the flat smoke badging. My props for this mod, it makes the car have a smoother look by blending the colors.

If you had the car Richie, you would have noticed the chrome OEM "L" logo on the grill and trunk as well as the outline of the grill (LOL)!!!!!

very nice mod.. it's definitely unique. did you have to do any prep work to the oem chrome before you painted? any sanding?
