Well now that your rear end got hit you can have them replace your trunk with a Seibon carbon fiber trunk piece instead or / and have them remove your back emblems make it all clean no holes.
Work it out with the body shop. They are going to have to get you a new trunk anyways.

You only call your own company IF the other person doesn't have insurance or something along that line.
To most insurance companies, a claim is a claim and when they see that you have made so many claims they jack up the rates. This being a hit with evidence and prolly a police report, I would stick it to the other company and the guy if I could.
Its the person at FAULT's insurance company to handle the problem, thats why the police issue ticket(s) to the person who caused the accident, intentional or not... even if its not your fault technically. I've been through it a few times.

the op was rear ended. how could this be his fault and why would his rates go up? ek9 i wonder what kind of insurance you got...
