The smoke tails that I've seen are way too dark, IMO, almost black. Red outs look nice . I'm getting mine done with Aerotects' less dark "steel" overlay. Hopefully its what I want on my SGM.

I have a Black Sapphire Pearl, and I did both Red-outs and Smoke overlays from AeroTect. I didn't do the greatest job on the smoke overlays, so there are a few small gaps, but overall they look fantastic. The smoke is a little darker than I wanted to begin with, but it matches the shade of the car pretty well. If you get real close and run your hand over it, you can feel where the red-out is underneath, but it's not too bad. I'm at work, but I'll try and attach a crappy iPhone picture for you.

How come you installed both? What is the benefit to installing both??

to the OP:

IMO on BLK and TP the Smoke looks great. Red outs look good on all colors. Just my opinion!!

The red-outs cause your blinkers to appear red instead of orange. The smoke overlays make the taillights darker. If I hadn't done the red-outs, the blinkers would still blink orange and I didn't really want that. Personal preference only. Now the taillights are dark and all the light is red. Also note that I cut the smoke overlay for my reverse light, that was not done from AeroTect, although they might do it if you have them install it.

I think smoke would look awesome on your car because it's a dark color. But yeah, if you want to eliminate the amber, do red-outs underneath the smoke overlays.

chums: I believe they are smoke (the darker option), there was only one option when I ordered them several months back. I just looked at AeroTect's website and it is completely different than before.

radicalrev: I'll be heading home soon... I'll try and take a better pic with my digital camera and upload it.
