Exhaust residue driving me nuts...
#16
I would try switching gas stations for a start. I made sure to go outside and check my exhaust after reading your dilemma. I did not notice any corrosive build-up on my vehicle. I would try the gas switch and if the problem persists, I would inquire with the dealer. Since your vehicle is probably less than two years old, this should not be happening.
P.S. It is okay to be **** and take care of your car (LOL). This issue would bother most people.

I know plenty about cars. However, I am still learning about the odds and ends of the IS. Or the little things if you will. Thank you for your colorful contribution.

Seriously, you don't know what a muffler is???
But, it wasn't that long ago that I didn't even know how to change a flat tire, to date I've torn down a couple of cars to a bare chassis and rebuilt them incl paint, suspension, bulit my own exhaust, re-built several motors....
We all have to start somewhere, just keep at it

My bad, just a little grumpy with the lack of car entusiasts on this site, and the abundance of ego enthusiasts playing car.

The thing that looks like a "bladder" towards the center of the car is the catalitic(sp?) converter IIRC
But back to the topic, my mom's ES350 suffers from this to, I read on here somewhere that its just condensation from the inner workings of the exaust that happen to be a rusty orange.
