I found the spray on paints to be messy, uneven and required massive touch-ups twice a year due to rock chips and brake dust. Looks like everyone has expereienced good luck with the paint on types. I heard the two step clear coat to work well, but I have not used this yet.

ok guys, i just painted my fronts calipers today, RICER RED using duplicolor, looks fantastic, heres a few tips:
1. preparation is everything, get some gunk brake cleaner and a wire brush *i used a brass type* and clean them good, then after it dries wipe them down with a damp towel, you'll be surprised how dirty the towel gets...
2. 1 can brake cleaner for the front, 1 can for the back. *i only had one can and thus only did the fronts today* do not assume 1 can can do the front AND the back...
3. DO NOT use the brush in the dupli kit, its too stiff, go buy a real camel hair brush.
4. dont worry about the 'backside' of the brakes, waste of time.
5. when applying the paint, first coat go lightly and dont worry if it doesnt 'cover' well. 2nd coat will do the job. you can go more coats if you like but if you have a good brush 2 coats is fine. this will use half the can.
*havent done the rear yet, will do so at a later time*

^ very good info. I thought 1 can of brake cleaner is enough I bought 2 cans of black paint from duplicolor. Can someone link me to the flatlinegraphix site that sell the rear caliper sticker?
Where did you put the jack stands at? First time lifting up my IS so I don't know where the jacking points are and the jacks stand suppose to be.

hmm so 2 duplicolor kits instead of one? alright...
about the tools..I dont have the jack stand, and whatever it takes to lift my cars..and I'm also not familiar with lifting cars and taking out wheels..I would want to do this with some friends to be safe.. so when are you going to do yours, smoky?
oh and where can I get the brake cleaner?
