Default Mountain bike in trunk (?)

Possible with the front wheel off? Beach trips are just around the corner and I'm missing folding rear seats.

Tried it, didn't work. Resolved with roller blades. Anyone remember those? =)

I can't imagine you could do it unless you bungeed the trunk lid. I used to have a Saturn SL, and I could only fit a bike in that trunk with the back seats down. time for a bike rack.

It may work if you take the rear wheel off as well. You still have to sort of wiggle it in there. I only did it to see if I could and it's too much trouble to do it on a regular basis.

I had no ability to fit my Gary Fisher bike in my tuck even with both wheels off. It is a bummer, but I do not want roof racks or theat padded rear bumper mounted rack that will inevitably scratch the paint.

Bummer. I'm going to have to take both wheels off and maybe more. Leaving the bike at home all summer is not an option.
Thanks for the head's up.

Even with both wheels removed, I could not get this bike in the trunk.

I ended up putting it inside in a moving blanket with the wheels in the trunk.

I couldn't get mine in the truck without removing both wheels. So I bought the lexus bike rack. I don't have to remove the wheels and it's easy to remove when not needed.
