Prototype Front Lip, What Do You Think?
Hi all,
As part of a developmental molding process, Five Axis created this prototype lip for the IS250 and IS350. Since Troy is a friend of mine, he asked me to put this on my car to see what the reaction from IS owners would be. It is manufactured from OE-grade urethane and it adheres with 3M double sided tape. Before you think that it will fall off, please note that it the design does extend over the factory removable lower chin piece (which stay on the car) and captures part of the upper surface of the lower bumper itself, making it nearly impossible to fall off. We tried it on w/o any tape on it and it held in place just because of the tight tolerance and fit over the top of the lower part of the bumper. They currently are not in production with this part and depending on your feedback could easily tool up and have parts in about 2 months. Retail would be around $400, unpainted. Troy said they plan to stick w/ the tape only since he assures it will not come off. Trust me, you don’t want to cut holes in your car to attach a lip like the factory parts anyways. Also, do you think the price is right?!
Thanks,
fishnfool

i'm sorry... good thing it's a prototype... that doesn't look good... it's not low enough...GFX kit is lower..... especially when you look at it from the side... it looks.... as if it's arching up ... really ricey looking basically. hope that's constructive criticism for ya... I like your wheels

although alot of us would love to have a bigger selection... this lip, no. looks like cross of a couple of different lips. the upturned front looks too funky.

I love it!!! Put it into production and I will purchase. Any better pricing though? $400 just for a lip is a little high.... $350 shipped is the most I would be willing to pay. And factory paint color work would be a good option as well. Any plans for side skirts and a rear piece? I don't think it sticks out to far, it kinda gives it a edgy look, not just a bland piece like most lips offered.
