Not sure why ur Maint. Warning light did not come on, did u ever bring ur car into the dealer and they change the oil for you? I'm just thinking at some point between ur last oil change if the dealership changed ur oil they may have reset the light.
As far as the warning there are two types:
1. There should be a msg on the multi-display screen on ur dash. This should give a warning msg 500mi before you need to change ur oil. This one appears when u start ur car and then goes away. Then at 5k, the warning will say that OIL MAINT is REQUIRED and this screen does not go away until it is manually reset.
2. The nav msg can be set by you at any point, for any number of miles. There is actually an entire maintenance screen of different functions you can have setup like this.

The warning light is so bright that it's in your face reminding you to get to the dealer.

you changed it at 4.5 then they should have reset your maintenance light. so why would it come on at 5k? it should come on at 9.4k miles for a maintenance required SOON light.. comon now guy if you reset the light it resets and counts down by 5000 again.. (not to sound **** but its kind of common sense..)

thanks M1sTa that is common sence. lets go people 4500 miles plus 5000 miles = 9500 miles not 5000 miles. everytime the dealer does an oil change they reset the system by holding the trip meter on a i think and cutting the car on. you can do it youself. i've done it plenty with my 2007 camry that works the same way.

If the dealer did your last oil change, they reset the light....er.. I mean clock. The light doesn't have to be on to reset the internal timer, which is what they did.
