swapping out hid bulbs-battery disconnect?
I tried search, didn't find it.
I could have sworn I saw somewhere that I should disconnect the neg term of the battery or SOMETHING before swapping bulbs..
.. did I imagine that? I also need rubber gloves, right? to Avoid oil on the bulbs...
my 6000K bulbs come today!!

I think i read it in the manual. something about 20,000 volts and killing you..
So you guys just swapped out your d4s bulbs without touching the battery?
If I get shocked, and if I live, I'm coming to find you.

j/k if you're worried just do what the manual says.

If your car is off, you have no worries on the bulb swap out unless the healights are activated. yes, the HID although at 35 watts, produce over 17,000 volts and will fry you faster than a Chicken Nugget. Be very carefull. The gloves will also prevent finger tip oil from reducing the bulb life. On halogens, the oil would cause the filament the refract and thus cause more heating which subsequently burns out the bulb fast. I guess the same is said to apply for HID although there is no filament but rather an arc from igniting the zenon gas molecules.
