Anyone else getting 400 miles a tank?

The RANGE APPROX is based on how many miles you got in your last few fill-ups. So if you only went 278 miles on your last fill-up, it's going to assume similar driving patterns. I'm guessing either you drive a lot of city miles, fill up before your gas light comes on, have a lead foot, or spark plugs need changing.

This is crazy I have an '07 and I average about 300 miles on a full tank! I commute 30 miles round trip daily for 6 days a week. I need to figure out how to get close to 400 miles. Good to know nonetheless...

When I had AWD, I pulled very close to 400 but that was using the subtank - risky thing to do, but never did that again. I get about 350-380ish. For me, it's mixed majority freeway/city/mountain (go and leave home). With RWD, 400 possible.

400+ easy in mild weather. I don't pay much attention to the miles on tank number but I usually get 28+ tank average just before I fill up again. I can get over 30 if it's strickly highway.
Tire pressure and type is a hugh factor. Also winter is comming which will bring my tank average down to 25 or so.

around town or freeway?
Mythbusters tested this. They got better mileage with AC on and windows up due to higher drag with all windows open.
Not that Mythbusters is the definitive source on this, but i'm sure you didn't get 6MPG more because of it.

You can always fill up just a half tank when filling gas too. Less weight is always beter for gas mileage. I'm sure a full tank of gas weighs a good amount Not sure the result would be that noticeable to you though.

Drove from Houston TX to Lafayette today doing between 2-5 miles above speed limits, 260 miles and the range is still 163. I'll be city driving driving in Lafayette for the week and am hoping to break 400 on this tank. So far the MPG showed 36.1. I was very surprised. I changed the oil last week and inflated the tires to proper pressure so may be that helped.
