Anyone else getting 400 miles a tank?
Just wondering if anyone else is getting 400 miles to the tank. I was pleasently surprised that the IS250 could do that. I used to drive pretty spirited and always had the ect pwr button on, but now because of gas prices nearing $4.50/gallon I decided to change my driving habits. I always use the snow button and rarely does my car see 2 rpm's (unless going uphill). The drive is a quite different but time wise, i dont think i'm loosing many minutes reaching my destinations. I drive about 75% city and 25% hwy. Its good to know that the IS can get that many miles out of a tank of gas.

How the hell is that possible, I don't think that can be done. I have babied my car for a tank and only gotten about 330 and that was about dead empty. I think there is some exaggerating going on, either that or my car just sucks gas. I always use premium too which is supposed to burn more efficiently. I am sure I am getting screwed somehow, LOL. Maybe I should try driving it in snow I always am in regular mode. Hell the car is slow anyways so who cares if it is a little slower. I bought the 250 over the 350 because I thought I would get better gas mileage, but from what I have seen the difference is negligable.

I'm mostly highway, so 400 a tank is easy, now 500......now you're just crazy :-)
The gas light comes on at 410-210 usually, I can hit 450-460 before the trip computer says 0, never had a chance to stretch it because I commute 90 miles a day. 90 * 5 = 450.
I use cruise control.

I'm about the same; if I take it pretty easy and drive 70%+ highway, I can get 365-380/tank with my 350. I can also get that down under 300 if I try really hard, or 400+ if I try really hard.

what I find interesting is my wife has a 4 banger in her TSX, car is all of a year old, and I am getting better MPG then her car does and we both drive the expressway and deal with the same ****ty traffic. ??? I cant stand the car either!
on avg with my heavy foot I am getting the same as you are in your 250?? your car is rwd isnt it?
I saw something in the news that recently a lot of people have been complaining that the gas mpg has gone down significantly on their cars. Not sure if and where it went as I dont keep up with that kind of stuff....

I can get 30.7 mpg with the awd cruising at 65mph on the freeway, but since I do about 70% local and 30% hwy I avg about 25-26mpg and about 350-360 miles a tank, I am sure if I drove all the way down to FL I can push 460+ a tank easily

I could probably do better, but I drive 80-85mph on the freeway and my last trip from North Carolina to Kentucky averaged 28mpg with a little in town driving (around 1000 miles roundtrip). That's exactly the same as I get going to and from work every day with 80% freeway. I don't go by miles on a tank as there's always a (different) residual left in everyones tank when they fill up.
