Default got my tmps installed today

got my tmps installed today alond gith my rims

it all started yesterday when my tmps arived i got 4 for $115 shiped. so i called the lexus dealer and they said come out and we will can program them in. i got there and then they said you need them in the tires to wake them up and i asked how buch and they said $110. so i drove home 30 min later it realey made me mad.

so today i went to my local mecanic/race shop they installed then in the tires ballanced the tims and programed the sencors all for $100.

the olny thing i wanted was a small spacer but the studs were not long enough so no spacers. i will get some pics later.

So these worked perfectly? If yes then this is a great deal considering these are $300+ at dealers.

Maybe I'm missing something, but from what you're saying, Lexus wanted $110 to install these and get them working. You got pissed and went elsewhere, and they charged you $100.

I guarantee you the Lexus quote included mounting and balancing the tires as well. Did I miss something?

This is a great price for a set of 4 TPMS. Lexus charges $100 each x 4 = $400! That's a huge savings. Do you program the sensors after it's mounted inside the rims or before installation? I'm seriously considering getting these if it meets OEM parts.

you don't need to wake the sensors. As long as they are registered to the ecu it will be fine when you install them. Mine were programs off the wheels for three months before I installed them into my wheels

I got mine off eBay new for 100$ shipped to my door like 6 mos back.

I had them mounted with the tires/rims and then went to Lexus and had them program then for FREE! It was a 15 min a most courtesy service.

There are 2 numbers on each TPMS sensor. One is the same between all 4, at least that is how mine where, then the 2nd number. I have 2 sets linked up now so I can put the OEM rims back on at any time!

Its well worth the money if you can find them on eBay. They are the real deal. Nothing aftermarket works with Lexus at this time!

not anymore mike, my first set had the first series of numbers the same. but the second set i ordered from him, all numbers are different. the key is to write those number down, and make sure which side of the wheel you installed it on.

The only thing you need to write down is the alphanumeric code. Which only has 7 digits/letters (mixed)

I also picked up a set for $115 shipped to my door.. Super great deal for brand new sensors..

Usually, you need the Lexus/Toyota Techstream Laptop computer to register these.. and yes, Lexus dealerships like to charge $110 dollars for this 5-minute program process...

My buddy who works for Toyota did mine... We registered them into the system, but not installed in wheels... which caused a "Check System Light".
After they were pressurized, they "woke up" and competed the registration - initialization process.

To slownandlow: What tool did your local race shop use to register the sensors??

They MIGHT not work. Your car might be PRE production. The ones on ebay are for POST production.

Mine is an 06/06 manufacture build date. So I think the post production TPMS will work.

Thanks for the help though!
