Question Lexus IS - Remote Start? Possible?

Is it possible to install remote start on an ISX50?

I know this is NOT a dealer option, but what about an aftermarket remote start? How does this effect the Smartaccess?
Please Advise.

Thanks in Advance.

I'm sure it's not impossible. But... How much you got!! It's expensive and does not integrate fully with the IS...

I had a dealer installed Toyota part unit on a Smart Start '07 Camry XLE.The original key fob button started the car.It worked fine except for a Toyota remote start install safety policy.
You use the remote to start the vehicle but when you unlock the door, the engine cuts off only to have to be started again.
For whatever reason,Lexus doesn't offer the option.

actually Lexus DOES have that option, but in the Japanese Market. Contact carson toyota or sewell lexus, they can give you more info. I think they stop stocking them for whatever reason.

I believe it was the LX has a remote start the LX has a remote start function which is pretty much is identical to our OEM remote key, last i heard lexus recalled it for some glitches and quality problems. Sewell was going to test it for us but since lexus recalled it we havent had any news on it..

Edit: it looks like lexus took it off their site, looks like we might never find a oem solution.

BTW: in the IS-F section CATHAFER has a remote start on her IS-F

Also they had a glass breaking sensor that everyone wanted, these were all lexus OEM add ons.

What he said.

As I recall, she had to have a seperate remote for the remote start, and had to shut the car off and then restart it before driving it. I could see it being useful in very hot/cold conditions, but in either case I would hesitate to shut the car off and immediately restart it on a regular basis.

I'm surprised Lexus hasn't come up with a better solution to this yet. There are a lot of people out there that would have this installed on their cars, including me. My dad has it on a Pontiac, so I'm sure Lexus can come up with a solution.
