Default Dealer used IS prices are crazy

Lexus dealers used prices are crazy. You have to be nuts buying used from Lexus certified or not without at least 20% discount..
I'm looking through my newspaper auto dealer ads.
I see prices like a '06 IS 350 with 27K miles for $40995.
I'm special ordering a '09 IS 350 with NAV,ML,the costlier Luxury Plus package,Parking Assist for about that price.
My dealer would give me $25500 for my IS with 22K miles. On their lot they have a '06 white /cashmere IS 250 AWD no NAV with 33K miles for $30995.
Lexus used prices are a joke. You can almost buy new for what they're asking for used.

I just noticed that too. My 08 IS250 AWD had an MSRP of $39,900, I paid $36,900 for it. I saw a USED 2006 IS with 20k miles for $33k... 2 year OLDER car with 20k miles on it with LESS options for $3k less? Huh lol

$40k for an 06 IS350 seems C R A Z Y. Even if it has NAV, ML, PA, and every other option, that price is still too high!

That is exactly WHY I purchased new. It's one of the few cars around that's actually worth buying that way.

that's actually good i think... keeps our IS resale value at a high bracket... so mom and dad won't be buying their sons/daughters an IS once they turn 16 which leads to you not seeing as much IS's on the streets more than your already seeing them NOW

Its actually bogus price. I talk my used awd from 37k down to 30k including all the tax and registrations. My family talk to him, and they werent going to move, and we told the salesman that 30k for everything or we go, and 15 mins later we were signing the paper work.

But many parents buy their children new ones... so it doesn't affect it that much...

I was looking into a crystal white/black used 06 is350 with 23k miles back in December 07. The lowest they would go was 35k, and it didn't have nav or park assist. I bought a new one a week later for 500 dollars more with the same options, only thing different is the exterior is starfire pearl and it has cashmere interior instead of black anyone want to trade interiors? haha.

why did you buy it if you didn't want the interior color... one of the points of buying a new car is getting it how you want...

Cashmere was a close second choice....I just prefer Black plus I had a buyer for my jdm front integra so I was kinda in a bind. What helped me decide to buy this car was the 08's have black carpet and floormats. I had the tan interior in my integra and I liked it except for the tan carpet because it would get dirty so easily. Also, the wife is in the car the majority of the time and she wanted cashmere and the kids wanted cashmere too, cause they didn't like burning their legs during the hot summers. Oh well, at least I still have my MR2 turbo with Black interior. At least you can say I have some variety

It's as simple as this... every dealer is different. There are good and bad deals out there. Must shop around to find them. A quick look at Autotrader for my local area brought up many low prices.

Autotrader and cars.com are probably your best bet..esp. if the owners of the cars are the first owners and you're able to speak w/ them and all that.

Yup. I was considering an used 06, but then I saw the price then said WTF? I got my 08 in December for 1,000 more than that used 06 I was considering.
