$1800 for the mid-pipe alone. Not sure about the axle back section.

I think they're BSing you, they probably just want to keep the exhaust. They can do some cutting and welding to install it to another car. I just hate it when they do this kind of things, totally unacceptable!! Which shop is it? You should give everyone a head up!!

honestly, good they threw it away for you... after yrs of modding cars i've learned, let them if not you'll just have bunch of OEM parts that VERY VERY RARELY someone will want cluttering up your yard...

No way! I was thinking $200-$300. If I were to sell my stock exhaust in classified section how much can I get?

not to thread jack but 50-100 max lol...no one wants stocks unless they are putting car back to stock or something happens to theirs. But it does help to have a spare if you ever want to put the car back to stock.

that's what I thought. i was thinking who's gonna pay $200 let alone $1800. I know for sure if you bought one from dealer it'll cost about $2000.

He probably had it mixed up with HKS. OEM is not worth much, I kept mine in case I want to sell the car and bring it back to stock, than sell the Tanabe on the side.

well you can try place it in the back seat area. It does fit, but got to be careful when taking it out of the car again......

I came back with my MDX to pick up my stock exhaust. If I did what you did I would've scratched or ripped something in my IS easily.

sometimes it's handy to have your own wrench to do it yourself and not go through the hard ache of the dealership mistakes. Its probably less work to install the exhaust on than putting the exhaust in^^^

I would request for some $$$ then thank them for discarding your old exhaust for you.

Dude i'd be majorly pissed. You asked them if they could hold onto it till the day after so you can pick it up. A reputable shop should honour their word, especially since you got your Tanabe exhaust installed there. Talk to the person who agreed to hold it...politely...if he gives you the runaround, raise hell and tell them they'll be in contact with your lawyer.
