Speaking of transmissions...
the IS automatic has got to be one of the smoothest shifting unit's I've ever experienced. Hell, it IS the smoothest. You just can't detect shifts most of the time. Amazing...

Acceleration from a slow crawl in traffic can be jolting due to its relatively aggressive throttle (well, I speak of the IS350). The car likes to hold the gear during traffic; sometimes I use Snow Mode to prevent that.
When you don't want people cut you off in stop-and-go traffic, the car can sometimes jump during acceleration. That is my only quirk with the transmission. Otherwise, it is extremely smooth for highway driving.

Agreed as well - one of the best non-DSG transmissions out there for sure and hardly skips a beat; and I'm always in ECT power as well. However, I do hope that Lexus gets into the DSG realm - for I have not heard anything from Lexus on this, whereas others will have soon or have offerings already.
