Default Non hid to hid...possible?

Is it possible to swap out non hid headlights with hid units and call it a day? Is it as easy as just swapping them out or is it more involved? I just got my hands on some hid headlights and I have a friend with an is250 with no hid so im trying to see what options do I have. thanks

Yes you can do it. You will loose the AFS part if they have that on them. But you can bolt up the rest if that is what you are asking??

Mmmm... I think he's asking if it's possible to just swap out the bulbs. Or the housing? No, it's not quite that simple. You need to mount the ballast, drill holes into the cover, then wire everything.

I have oem lexus hid headlights not an aftermarket hid kit. The car currently does not have hid on it. My question is how hard is it to install the hid headlights and get them working.

GS4_CS, you'll have to remove the bumper and pull off the old headlights and put in your new ones.

as far as providing power to your HID headlights, you may be able to splice it to the OEM wiring or use an aftermarket wire harness to provide the power like the one below:

Good luck!
