Default Question about the light in the trunk

Trunk light has a manual on/off switch. I assume that if the light is switched ON, it does not go off when the trunk is closed?? Anyone know for sure.

Of course it goes off when the trunk is closed, otherwise you'd have a dead battery in short order. And that would not make many owners happy if they forgot to turn it off. This can be easily checked by opening the pass through compartment and peering into the trunk from the back seat.

I guess that it's like the refrigerator. I was going to climb in and have my wife close the trunk to make sure it did shut off. Not sure she would let me out. I guess that is why they have the emergency inside trunk release.

There is the internal trunk release anyways - your wife would have to sit on the trunk or something to keep you inside (not implying anything about your wife, swear).

There’s no need to crawl inside and close the trunk or wait for the battery to go dead. The manual confirms the light goes off when the trunk is closed....unless you think the manual is wrong.......hmmm.

Option 3: Open the pass through and see it from the back seat. Let's see your wife stop you from getting out then.

I heard they were going to add a trunk cam to the 09' model! That way whenever you switch into Neutral it shows up on the display.

Handy to watch those items fly when you step on the gas.
