ok so im able to get sound out of my sub now, turned out the LOC was bad, and i need 12V to my remote (as opposed to the 6.5V coming from the pink remote wire).

does anyone know what I can tap to get 12V for the remote wire?

^^Glad everything worked out now. Now you are the expert on the wires in your trunk Crazy after all that stuff we tried out

Try to use the power outlet wire from either the armrest or up by the radio. It should be a red wire and on MY.IS this is what a member did for the same reason and they claim it worked plus it turns on and off with the car

How does it sound??

so i attempted putting a sub and amp today (Pioneer set-up not the ML). everything is done and running perfect but i also have no sound? the wires we tapped into are the Pink (+) and Skyblue (-) which are located on the second harness cloest from the pass. No one has really ever confirmed where the stock sub wires are??? we assumed these were them so we tapped into them right near the stock amp where they connect. I didn't do all four wires on my output adaptor only the two i mentioned above. the other two stock sub wires are Brown (+) and Lime Green (-) was i suppose to tap these wires as well? i'm also a bit confuse about leaving the stock sub in there? all i want to do is run the extra sub/amp and leave the existing speakers including the stock sub running at low bass settings. help please

- Amp powers on
- taped wires have AC voltage before LOC, no signal apparent on RCAs after LOC
- LOC removed - ran speaker wires into amplifer - still no subwoofer sound
- stock sub still works (tapped stock sub wires)
- Equipment Functional - amp powers a friends subwoofer in his car. and his amp powers my subwoofer in his car.- polarity of tapped wires, polarity of inputs into amp, and polarity of inputs into terminal cup on subwoofer all double checked OK.

I think I'll just take my car somewhere and have them fix it....
This comment on equipment function makes no sense.
Your amp works in your friends car
AND HIS WORKS IN YOUR???????

This makes no sense and if it is indeed the case the answer is simple
SWAP AMPS WITH YOUR FRIEND or by the same amp he is using. After all this I'd take his and by him a new one.
