Sorry for your bad experience, this happens to the best of us. I was behind a landscaping truck ten years with a new Altima when debris fell off at highway speeds and scratched/dented my hood and shattered my grill. I was so upset, but, i gained my composure and dealt with it. You will get it fixed and it will be fine, no worries.

I had a 7-Up can pull a "Matrix" move (like in the movies).., just the other day.
It was a slow motion spining can that flew up and over my car..
Just missing the roof by a few inches...
Good thing i was doing 80 on the fwy.

Sorry to hear that bro,
I had a pickup cut me off on the highway and his several gallon sized gas jug fell out and hit my car's bottom bumper. I cracked my bottom lip in half, my bumper is dented in towards the bottom, lower grill completely cracked in half, top grill popped out, and the bumper is deformed that the edges that arent held in with a clip are not flush with the other parts anymore.

since we're sharing.
Pre-IS, I was following a truck which had a large couch in the bed. As it went over a bump, I saw the couch bounce around inside the bed, meaning it was not secure. I knew a much bigger bump was coming up on that stretch of freeway and immeddiately changed lanes, honked twice and highbeamed. I did not it my hazards (maybe I should have).
Alas, truck hit big bump, couch flies out and lands in the fast lane directly behind truck. Car directly behind eats couch at 80mph+. Luckily the guy behind managed to swerve out of the way, as did the rest of the people. I said a little prayer of thanks.

I was driving with my daughter this last saturday, I noticed a couple of crows chasing each other around (it looked like there was food of some kind laying in the road) in front of us. As all the cars approached them (three lane road), they waited until the last second to start to fly away, and one flew sideways right into my windshield at 50mph, scaring the heck out of my daughter. Luckily, no damage to my car, although it did make one hell of a loud thump when it hit.

sorry to hear that. it happens.
this reminds me of a story though. my cousin was driving around once and apparantly a seagull just died or something in midair and came crashing down into his IS250. hit his windshield and slid over his roof. luckily it didnt cause any damage. maybe a few chips here and there on his windshield but nothing major.
