New Corolla comercial referring to IS...
Not happy about this for many reasons. The commercial interviews a Corolla "owner" and his statement is, "Looks like the Lexus IS mated with a Camry and the Corolla came out..." HUH? NOT EVEN CLOSE SON.
1) The new Corolla has no similar styling features as the IS.
2) The new Corolla is not selling to expectations due to bland and conservative styling.
3) Relating a Corolla to a Lexus is a put down to Lexus.
Shame on Toyota for either being retarded or selling out.
*rant over*

how is toyota being retarded or selling out? Toyota is Pimp Daddy, and lexus is his B*tch. If name dropping lexus during commercials gets more corrollas sold then so be it.

LOL That's one way to look at it. But the first thing that came to my mind was it deminishes the IS. If they compared an IS to an LS, that would be an upgrade or compliment. But comparing it to a Corolla is a downgrade. The IS should be going up, not down.

why do you guys even care what they say... does it really matter? geez... if you like your car then I do not see why you even have to get so defensive and consciousness about it...

In the late '70s, Ford had an advertising campaign that implied that their bland utilitarian Granada could be mistaken for a Mercedes. (See one of the ads here: http://jalopnik.com/362733/can-you-t...mercedes-280se). IMO, the Granada and Benz look NOTHING alike. I guess ads that suggest an economical family car looks like a luxury sedan must work.
