It is not a common thing to be blowing fuses in a car. You should replace the fuse that you used, but any more than that is probably unnecessary. Just be careful to not cause the short that blew the fuse again.

And if this keeps happening, you have an '08 so it's still under warranty, take it to the dealership.

Couldnt agree more, I should have take it in to let them diagnose it for me. However as you know it was kind of my fault in the first place. Therefore I didnt want to take it to the dealership and let them find out that I openned center console to installed the ipod adaptor and messed up the lighter. Anyhow, my car just hit 1K miles mark - after six months of ownership I'll need bring it in for the first oil change (1K miles as recommended) anyway in a couple of weeks.

Guess what? Autozone is closed on sunday So, I've to wait until Monday

That is weird our little crappy town has a 24 hour autozone.

FYI - there are three spare fuses in the main fuse box in the engine compartment under the cover on the driver's side. There is also a fuse puller to make removing fuses a simpler proposition. The only bad thing is, there's no 15A, just a 10, 25, and 30A. Still, if you're unable to find a fuse, you can always install the 10A for a 15A.

Agreed!!! Just don't go over 15AMP for the fuse, otherwise something seriously can go wrong.

Wow! great info and tips . Yep! there are 10, 25 and 30AMP spare fuses and the "useful" fuse puller as marked in the pic. 10A for 15A is temporary type of solution right- could I use that permanently?

You could as long as the device you plug in does not need more than 120 watts. I only plug in a phone charger or a radar detector so a 10A is more than enough for me. If you're plugging in an inverter or something that heats up, more than likely you'll need to use the 15A fuse.

Yep. As long the load does not require more then 10A, then you are OK.

I've had a similar problem and I took it to the dealership to have it checked out. They fixed it and have told me that the cigarette lighter by the front should not be used to charge anything. Its kind of detrimental, because the chargers r usually wider, and thus over time it widens the space. Now I just use the one beside the AUX input and hook it up to a 3-Way socket that I sticked to the side.

BTW, mine is a 08 and it was free of charge to get it fixed.

I think I broke the whole things. Since the metal inside is bended. And I forced the metal in. Now I can't even pull it off. Do you guys know where to buy the whole thing?? Thank you
