Default License plate light?

Just wondering what bulb size do you use on you IS models for the License plate because every time i see an IS the license plate light it looks so clean. I have switched my bulbs twice with the led lights and cant seem to match the ones off your cars its just not as bright for some reason thanks

What we have are LED type bulbs, you'll need to swap whatever bulb you currently have for a LED bulb in whatever size you require.

thats what i heard too that the license plate bulbs were soldered in that why i just wanted to make sure. I bought led bulbs and compared them to the IS lights and they are way off no comparison. I thought it was the bulbs that i bought so i bought a diff. set and still the same results. i think the Sylvania site is wrong sometimes

Correct. You can't get the bulbs separately, you must buy the lamp housing/assembly. They are about 80 bucks each from Lexus.

Yes, they will come with the LED bulb inside. You would just need to find a way to adapt them to your car.

So you can't replace the stock LED bulb to another aftermarket LED bulb?? Mine is fading already....damn if it was 80 bucks to change it.

Go to lexus and warranty it, why would you want your license plate to be so illuminated? to get more attention from the police?

did you try the new" 2w " high power bulbs yet???

M-SMT High Power Flank
2 Watts of pure LED power. Designed for right angle applications, if your bulb sits in sideways, or 90 degrees then this is the bulb you need. Our M-SMT bulbs use the latest in High Power LED technology. This bulb has a full 180 degrees of light side to side. Color is consistent through the M-SMT line, similar to white/blue 6k HID lighting found on many high-end cars or aftermarket HID headlight kits. These are bright, nearly 10 times brighter than a standard LED for this application, so that's like having 40 LEDs on this little bulb!.
