Wow that is weird? I have never heard of an Insurance company dictating what kind of tires you have on your car? I could see them fighting if you car was in an accident and the car was not safe to be on the road but IMO I would find another insurance company.

Very impressive to get the mileage you did out of those OEM tires. I have 15k or so on mine and I will probably get about another 5k out of mine if I am lucky. Having put the OEM rims and tires back on last weekend I must say the RE050a tires are very noisy and do not offer what I had. But you get what you pay for and these are a fraction of the PS2's I had on the car.

If you have Discount Tire in your area they have been great to me for many years See what they can offer you!

Wow.... 32k on those tires? My tires were down to 30% when I had only 12k then I switched to aftermarket wheels and tires. As long as you don't mix the tread pattern within an axle, you should be fine, but I would get all 4 tires at the same time with an alignment like others suggested, I don't think the rears will last too much longer.

The reason I ask is because I can't find the turanzas anywhere near my place and the cheapest i found it for was $242/tire.

I remember I used to switch the treads ...... only on the rear/front respectively, not driver/passenger. It's just that, if I get into an accident, will the insurance company penalize me for not having same set of tires on all fours?

Any Advice???

btw: i have 32k miles. Are these tires supposed to wear out by now?
I have a new set of ER33 I will sell the front pair for $ 370. Shipped

I must drive like a grandma then, compared to the kind of wear you guys are getting.

Honesty, I drive the car pretty hard in stop and go traffic, too.

Maybe I got a miracle set of tires.
Maybe you got a IS actually aligned correctly at the factory miracle or is that a extra cost option?

Since I live in the Northeast and drive an IS250 AWD, I wanted good all-season tires. Based on Consumer Reports and Tire Rack, and price, the Conti Extreme Contact seemed like a good choice.

I don't know that I would recommend these tires, though, because they are much noisier than the stock Dunlop tires, especially on newly paved interstate highways at speeds over 70 mph. This was a bit of a disappointment, since the noise ratings were not flagged as a problem in the CR review.

Anyone else have a similar experience with the Conti's? I'm thinking about having some extra soundproofing installed.
Are you comparing noise level of new all-season tires to worn smooth summer tires?

Was it 2/32nd's accross the full width of the tire?

About to replace my front stock Bridgestones at 17k. The outer edges are worn, especially on the passenger side. I've noticed some people experience the same type of wear. Think I'm going with Nitto Invo's since they have good reviews and aren't directional so I can rotate them.
