So I've noticed a problem lately with my mirrors. They're not tilting all the way when I go into reverse. This usually happens in the mornings the first time I put the car into reverse when I drive. Subsequent times it's fine but it happens quite often. Sometimes itll be the right side.. sometimes the left.. sometimes both. Anyone have this problem? It'll tilt a couple of degrees but not all the way like it's supposed to.

It happens a lot from what I've read. Mine is going in and out, stop working for a couple days and then works fine for months. Well...the past two weeks, it hasnt worked at all, I put it in reverse, the mirrors turn down half way, I put it in drive and it doesnt go back up. Have to make an appointment soon with the dealer. I hear they change the motor behind it.

make sure the mirror switch is either on the left or right mirror and not in the middle between the two

already knew that. besides if it wasnt it wouldnt move at all

i had a problem like that, i brought it in and the replaced something, i suggest you do the same

I have the 2007 IS350 and my Lexus advisor stated that the left mirror goes all the way down when in reverse but the right mirror only goes about 1/2 way.

Does that sound right?

there are known issues about the tilt down mirrors... ive had mine replaced about 15k miles ago (35k now) with the identical problems that youre experiencing and im beginning to have same problems again!

thats so sad to hear, my sister drives a 1998 LS400 with the works and her tilt mirrors as well with everything else in/on the car is in flawless condition. not to mention the car has over 140k miles.

you guys talking about the side mirror will tilt down automatically when you put on reverse?

My 2008 IS250 DOES NOT DO IT. There is no movement/change on the mirror when i put on reverse.

Does 2008 IS 250 has this function? or Mine is just broken?

Do I need to keep the mirror button on the middle to make it works? I always keep the button on right so I can manually adjust the mirror when I reverse to the parking.

That feature (among others) is only available on the Sport and Luxury packages.... the button in the middle on those cars turns -off- the auto-tilt feature, it works if the switch is on the left or right position on those cars (350, 250, any year)

If your signature is accurate, it won't work. The feature comes as part of the luxury and sport packages, not the premium package. (If you don't have the memory seats, you won't have this feature)

this doesnt sound right to me. When I first got the car it would always tilt the same as the passenger side mirror. It should tilt enough to let you see the ground. It doesnt do that now. It jsut tilts 1/2 or even 1/4 sometimes. Is there a TSIB for this?
