I just took a look at my front bumper and found like 5 or 6 bad rock chips......Is it even worth putting clear bra on now? The damage is already done so should I just get my bumper repainted and then clear bra? Just knowing that all those rock chips are there makes me sad. I should of got clear bra when I first purchased my car but I was low on cash and eventually forgot about it until now

Hey if it's only 5 you can get those touched up & blended,
after you get that done, you have to wait about a month for
the touch up paint to dry then you can clear bra and you
wont even be able to tell anything was ever there.
P.s. It's better to do it yourself then have a shop do it,
way cheaper, look around on how to fill them, respraying
your bumper to look original will cost more than a clear bra.

our IS has some weak *** paint. I have so much rock chips on both the hood and front bumper that I'm considering getting them repaint. I have to give BMW for having some strong paint, my 03 330 CI is now 5 years old and it barely has any chips at all. I get disappointed every time I wash my IS because the chips are so much and noticeable. Touch up paint will only work when you are far away but if you're within 10ft of the car, u can see the chips.

It is an issue with the LS, RX, GS, LX.... so does the cars by other manufactures. They all have to comply with the same reqs. The blame lies with EPA for the new paint requirements that went into effect.

Thanks for all of your replies. I just want my car to look pristine and new all the time but it is inevitable that these scratches and chips will happen. I will probably just end up repainting it one day or just get a GFX front bumper then clear bra it.
