BMW has some intangibles that may suit you better...
I've just seen way too many sensor, and stupid problems that cost a bunch of money for the 335i. twin turbo is awesome. but really how much faster is it stock???
Lexus has better resale.
these cars are made for different interests. and different people...
Drive one...and you will understand.

I said I liked my IS350..fast, smooth yes..But the BMW was more raw power...That's all. Would I buy either of these cars again..Yes...If I had a family, I think the IS350 would be a great DD...thats why I got the 335 coupe..so I could have a little more fun...

But that all being said. Those cars are gone, and here comes my C63.

Listen I know your all happy and want to feel good about your decision. That's fine killer..but your telling me..that you can compare a 335 Coupe to an IS350?....The 335 4 Door, yes....in which I would have picked the IS350..but the E92 coupe...is different..Anyways..enough with this..have fun with your purchase.

Other magazines such as Road & Track obtained 13.5 sec @ 104+ mph in the quarter mile. And that's with the fat *** driver and 90F hot weather. With better conditions the IS350 would be pulling 13.30~ 13.45 sec, as demonstrated by many IS350 drivers out there. I don't get too horny with the magazine numbers so I(and many others) prefer drag strip racing.

Drag Strip Times for "Stock" vehicles.

IS350
13.228 sec @ 105 mph

335i
13.230 sec @ 104 mph

Also, it's funny to see every single drag strip video clips I have seen the IS350 beats the 335i. The launch is more favored on the IS350. The 335i is harder to launch. You have to make perfect launch and make no mistakes on the 335i to get dead even with the IS350.

.
It's interesting that not only is the BMW faster than the Lexus, but the edmunds test shows the BMW has having a quieter engine at cruising speeds and under acceleration. Perhaps it is possible to have your cake and eat it too?

Edmunds didn't turn off the traction control when they ran that test. I remember reading that they were able to get shave like .3 seconds of the 1/4 mile by doing so. I imagine it has even a more dramatic impact to 60.

Welcome to CL and the Lexus family.

Honestly, tooooo much debate with BMW vs Lexus. Both are great cars, people buy them with their own preference.

Car enthusiasts are car enthusiasts, we all love the car we drive, I admire other cars just as other drivers admire ours.

If you would have read the first post on this thread you wouldnt be asking this question... I dont have to feel good about my decision, there are reasons of which I got the IS. I felt good about it before i even got the car. If you wanna jump in the Edmunds bandwagon thats fine. but the only reason someone picks BMW over Lexus is because it handles better and might be a lil faster. thats it. other than that Lexus has the ups. I see where you are comming from, but I guess you dont see my point.
Dont take money out of the equation, because when you are spending 40 grand on the worst investement possible (a car), you might as well get something worth the money.

I don't mean to drag this on... but I've driven both as well, and while the BMW is an excellent vehicle, it is extremely overrated.

over rated

They produce ~280 WHP and ~292 torque to the rear wheel. They only list the car as 300 HP and 300 Torque where it should be 300+ HP and 300+ torque

Congrats on your new ride!

I went with the IS350 also for essentially the same reasons and it hasn't disappointed me.

I love my car more and more each day (I add a new mod)

If you mean as a car/vehicle (reliability and all of the above) it is overrated I can see where u are comming from. But if you mean as a performer (speed and handling) Im gonna have to say, it is a great car.
